
I would love to be able to press c (crouch) before I land with an ambusher and the momentum from my jets adds to the slide or play combat medic and slide across a hallway to res a team mate, and since combat medic can't use the momentum other then (catlike implant) they would not benefit obviously from a jetpack, but they could benefit sliding down a hill to res a team mate, they could benefit from like athletics implant sliding faster while sprinting. They could even invent new implants, that do fun things like during a slide you get the benefit of hipfire shooting like borderlands but you give up something else to do this. Each continent will have a home continent with Hossin not owned by any faction in the middle and each area connected by a continental lattice with battle islands to fight over before you enter the enemies continent. Even though there is no detailed meta game, I really like planetside 2 and I play it for 3-5 hours at a time in each session.Planetside 2 is a massive multiplayer first person shooter.

So I guess what I am saying is couldn't the devs experiment the sliding equivalent by taking a deeper look into for example the ambusher jets, they could derive from that a sort of sliding mechanic that could gain momentum when for example sliding down a hillside means you slide faster, but sliding on open terrain just pushes you forward a little faster like a dialed down ambusher jet or drifter jets. And obviously those things collide with terrain in general, so if you drive your atv at a rock, and its not sloped you'll either stop moving or explode. If you do that with drifter same thing, but if you slide on the ground and run into a rock that is sloped you might slope up for half a second, you might hit the rock and not move at all - they would just have to test it to see if its viable.
